Manchester United are pushing to sign Mats Hummels and have reportedly lodged a bumper transfer offer with Borussia Dortmund for his services, UK’s Metro reports. Hummels has emerged as a leading United target in recent months, with Louis van Gaal desperate to add a world-class centre back. Dortmund have insisted the German World Cup winner will stay put, but respected Italian reporter Gianluigi Longari says United have made an offer for his services. It’s not clear how much was offered, but Hummels is rated at about £30million, and any offer would need to be at least that in order to stand a chance.
